Vacation Wrap Up: 8.30.12

Untitled Fully energized with vitamin D, I am just coming down from my vacation high and it's probably a good thing since I haven't been inspired to type a single character on my blog since. I recently flew in yesterday without any bruises or horror stories from Hurricane Isaac (thank you Lord!). I had a blast from prepping for our travels to our stay and leisure time spent there. I challenged myself to put off social media for the week to really take a mental break and escape the pressure from updating Twitter, Facebook and Instagram but I think I scaled back rather than eliminated my time spent on the internet-especially during the downtime that I had after dinning out and being too full to do anything else or by passing the time away under a shaded umbrella by the poolside.

I actually went for a couple's wedding which was beautifully celebrated with blue skies and enough laughs to last a lifetime. I couldn't ask for a more perfect day for a beautiful couple. Here are a few pics that I pieced together of the happy moments of my vacation!

Enjoy^_^

I made this dress more than 5 years ago and I still love it because of the colours and its form fitting look. Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled

Prepping for a wedding or any special occasion makes the event that much more exciting:D Untitled

After soaking up some sun rays, we used the rainy days from hurricane Isaac to do some shopping. I love shopping in a comfortable outfit-one that is not overly pieced together and easy on the eyes and heels^_^

My love for window displays will never dissipate.... I love visuals too much after doing it for so many years.

No one should ever pass up a Godiva stop for a little taste of heaven. We treated ourselves with chocolate covered strawberries, truffles and other chocolate goodies.

This is one of the last outfits that I ended up wearing on the trip, but as a person who loves clothes I have to say that I probably packed way too many clothes because I still had clothes I hadn't worn!

Fab Feature: Jewelry by Ezzie Bliss

Today's Fab Feature is none other than jewelry entrepreneur Karen of Ezzie Bliss! Find out how this aspiring trendsetter started her line.

How did you come up with the name Ezzie Bliss?
My sister Ezra is the inspiration behind the name Ezzie Bliss who has had a major impact on my life. She is driven to achieve her goals, caring, loyal and loving and because of these qualities, I have great admiration for her. In Hebrew, Ezra means helper. When thinking about the name Ezzie Bliss the meaning “helper of joy” relays 100% for what I want this company to represent.

What initially prompted you to go into the accessory business?
Accessories played a major part in developing my self confidence. I was in a relationship for many years that dictated what I did. There were days when I looked in the mirror and felt ugly; wearing jewelry made me feel transformed as though it was like therapy. That is why I have such a passion for it and I hope I could relay this feeling to other women and young ladies in similar situations. So, this business endeavor is more than a business venture; it is about creating the person that you know you can be even at times when you feel that you are not. Now my motto is “you are the creator; so, create your own kind of beautiful”!

What inspires you to choose the pieces you have in your collection?
Fashion and accessories are second nature to me; I love transforming myself or an outfit just by adding a bracelet, necklace, a ring or all of them! The inspiration for choosing the pieces to feature on the site just comes naturally. I am very versatile in my style and I want the site to reflect that. I like to believe that I am no different to the average woman and we all have similar needs. I want to provide products that make others as excited about accessories as I am.

In your line, what is your favorite piece that you are completely in love with?
I absolutely love all off them. When I am selecting the pieces to feature I feel like I am shopping for friends and family. So, all the pieces I choose pull a familiarity or liking to those around me.

Given the opportunity, which celebrity could you see wearing your pieces?
I love Angela Simmons; her style is astonishing. She has a captivating look and fashion sense. She can go from street chic to a polished look effortlessly. She screams “glam.”

Check out some more pieces on EzzieBliss.com!

Angelina Jolie's Jewelry Line

Another celebrity collabo steps out into the industry of fashion and this time it isn't a clothing collection. Angelina Jolie has partnered with Robert Procop to create a collection of jewelry that will bear Jolie's classic signature. According to WWD, The collection includes a pale green 353-carat beryl pendant in a rose gold setting and a tablet-shape 12 carat green emerald ring. She can be seen wearing a vintage diamond chocker and sapphire earrings, designed by Procop, in her new movie The Tourist. Proceeds from the collection will go to her charity.

Ohh Angie why do you make things that I can't afford?! Looks like I won't be the only one wishing to have a piece of this collection- the line won't be sold in stores but through Procop's close circle of clients. Guess it pays to know people in high places with fat pockets. It's cool...I'll just be meddling in middle class in the mean time. *shrugs*
